The CTB150 Retrofitting project involved a comprehensive overhaul of an existing machine to enhance its performance, accuracy and productivity. The project involved sourcing and installing all necessary spares for the machine, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electric circuits. Following the installation and modification phase, a trial run test was conducted to assess the performance of the machine. The results were impressive, with the machine machining with an accuracy of 20 microns, far exceeding the client's expectations. The project was to design a table for a specimen cutting machine. The problem was that the bearings and vices were not in a good condition to be used. Cutting was interrupted by the movement of the table and vibrations. It won't be possible to cut specimens. The problem has been resolved. A new design was made for the machine table. The key points for the new design Provide proper antifriction elements instead of bearings. An angler cutting graduation scale that is appropriate for anglers. Cost-effective. Handling is easy. Maintenance is less frequent. What to do: 1) We replaced all ball bearings with LM Guide rods and linear motion housings. Vibration and temperature measurements are performed while spindles are run at maximum RPM. The velocity and displacement of bearings are checked. We test all electrical components as needed. All of the work can be completed from one side if the CNC turning center has only one turret, but some turning centers have a main spindle and sub-spindle for even faster operation.
